Today's Sewing Save series guest is Margot Firth, a Canberra local couture sewist and committed sustainable sewing fan.
Margot tells us how she saved her mother's coat she wore in when she visited the UK in the 70s. The coat is now owned and proudly worn by her niece.
When Margot returned back to Australia from her UK visit, this coat was stored away for another day. Forty years later Margo restored the coat fabric, replaced the lining and reused the buttons she originally bought at Harrods in the 70s.
Margot used her couture techniques to give her mother's coat another lease of life for her niece. You might get some tips on how to restore a coat that you love from Margot.
