On the 4th February 1975, one of Ivy Davies' neighbours entered her home in Holland Road in Westcliff-On-Sea. She had become concerned, along with some of Ivy's employees at the cafe she owned, that she had gone into work that day. As she entered the home her screams could be heard around the street. Ivy lay dead on the living room floor and the scene was bloody and violent. The police discovered that Ivy was a woman that everyone loved and there was not apparent motive for her murder, what exactly had happened?
