The contrast between our reaction as a society and government to 9/11 and our reaction to the coronavirus could not be starker. Today, we mark the grim anniversary of 9/11 while observing that our government and media have done to this society this year what the terrorists failed to do. We were a proud and brave people in 2001; today we cower in fear. Then, we preserved liberty (mostly); today, our governments have become much more totalitarian.
