In today's episode, I interview Shani Safier. Shani is a licensed massage therapist (full bio below). We had a really interesting conversation about different forms of self care. Physical touch can be such a powerful tool for healing, especially if this is your love language (https://www.5lovelanguages.com/).
Massage can also be that quit, safe space to zone out.
Massage is a great way to embody your body. Gentle dance or yoga can help you feel comfortable in your own body.
We also touched on the topic of safe and pleasurable touch. In our community, their is a huge emphasis on teaching our children about safe touch almost to the point of scaring them about touch. We need to make a point to teach our children about positive touch. This is a much more effective way to relate to touch.
We also spoke about establishing healthy boundaries relating to self care and safe touch.
