In commemoration of National Suicide Prevention Month, I wanted to take this episode as an opportunity to discuss mental health openly, and create a conversation between myself and my listeners. Mental illness affects such a large portion of our population and there is still a rampant stigma present on a global scale surrounding this topic. Discussions around mental health have definitely improved and become closer to the norm than they were in earlier years, but we still have a ways to go when it comes to responding to the subject as a whole.
Joining me today is my Daughter, Brianne Inselman. She has been brave enough to share her time with me and open up about how her own struggles with mental illness affected her growing up. We talk about her journey with Depression and Anxiety, how therapy helped improve her state of mind, as well as some advice for listeners with loved ones that live with a mental illness.
We hope this episode brings you solace if you are someone who has dealt with mental health concerns first hand and always remember, there is no shame in asking for help when you need it.
