The NewCity Orlando All of Life Podcast
Religion & Spirituality:Christianity
Each week in How to Read the Bible, Nate Claiborne and Benjamin Kandt discuss and model faithful Christian reading of the Old and New Testaments. The chapters chosen come from the previous week's reading in CBR.
In this episode, we discuss Job 13 and Mark 1. In Job 13, we note how important it is to pay attention to the range of emotions Job displays. We also note that his request to make his case before God is granted, but not in the way he anticipated. In Mark 1, we see that a curious choice of verbs ("torn") helps unlock Mark's literary artistry and intentionality in telling the story of Jesus. We also note that symbolism in the New Testament is often unlocked by pay attention to earlier details in the Old Testament.
