While hiking in Sedona I noticed a lot of people without shoes. At first I thought, "they be crazy" then I started thinking maybe they know something I don't. I asked a young man why he chose not to wear shoes while hiking this uphill climb. He explained to me that not only could he grip with his toes, balance better, and slip less, but that it was supposed to ground you.

This stuck with me. I loved how that sounded and will probably try it sometime. But until then, I thought how can we all be more grounded without having to cut up our feet on a hike?

We know that strong deep roots help weather the storms that come, but let's apply this spiritually and even emotionally.
