The Unapologetically Black Podcast
Society & Culture
Black Women are one of the most underserved groups by the healthcare system - from high pregnancy fatalities, period poverty, FGM and even Covid-19.
Livs leads this episode to explore why Black Women are often failed by the healthcare system and what we can do about it, as well as discussing what exactly is FGM and how we can tackle this issue in the UK. Livs is joined by Paige Nakiwu, the Youth Programmes Officer at Forward UK, and Dr Jenny Douglas, who is a Senior Lecturer in Health Promotion at the School of Health, Well-being and Social Care at the Open University.
The Dope Black Women Podcast is all about bringing black women together to discuss the topics that matter to us, connect and support with each other and through our digital sisterhood.
