The concept of intuitive eating can come across as unrealistic, laissez-faire, or even unhealthy. In this episode, I go below the surface to provide clarity on what intuitive eating (actually) is by taking you back to a time where you might have eaten intuitively without realizing it. Then, we discuss how encountering diet culture messaging may have prompted you to hop on a diet or change your body. We talk about how trusting in diets rather than our body’s cues/systems changes our relationship with food and leads to the cyclical dieting mentality and yo-yo dieting practices.
