E:14 My experience getting sick as an EMS provider - April 30, 2020
In this episode, you’ll get to hear directly from two paramedics on the front lines of the epidemic, who, unfortunately, got struck down by the virus and had it pretty rough. First, we’ll get to hear each them detail their experiences with the associated signs and symptoms, as well as the COVID-19 testing procedures they endured. Then, we’ll get into the steps they took to self-isolate and how that affected them and their families physically and emotionally. Luckily, each of them made a strong recovery and are both back on duty, but it wasn’t looking good at times during their sicknesses. Especially for my buddy Dave, who you’ll get to hear a lot from today.
This episode is dedicated to all of the healthcare workers that have gotten sick during this crisis. A HUGE thank you to David and Aaron for sharing their experiences, so that other EMS providers may have a deeper understanding and appreciation for what they and other healthcare providers have gone through during this time.
