Ep 46. The Longest Lockdown in The World; Normalization and Neuro Education with Michelle Baty
We are joined by Neuroscience extraordinaire Michelle Baty, in an incredibly unique time in history, being in the longest COVID-19 lockdown in the world, here in Melbourne, Australia.
The aim of this episode is to examine lockdown from the experience of the nervous system, rather than passing opinions around what should and shouldn’t have been done.
We provide you with normalization, validation, neuro education and resources as we delve into how our nervous system makes sense of our individual experiences of being locked down.
The episode is broken down into the safety VS threats of phase one of lockdown, the brief ease of restrictions and then the second wave.
Learn our we have our own lens on our experiences and our own ways of coping. Despite differences in experiences, each way of coping is completely normal and deserves to be respected.
For the onlookers, we want you to know that you deserve to enjoy the ease of restrictions, despite what is happening in Melbourne. There’s no need to hide your happiness, but please bear in mind, if you have a friend or family here in Melbourne, we wish to stay connected.
