Between the 1850s in the 1890s in Melbourne Romeo Lane in Juliet Terrace were regarded with fame equalling that of the parliament buildings and the Princes theatre. However, they were known widely due to their dark and seedy underbelly that attracted Eve Roy form of vice known to man at that time.
