Reincarnation story of Shanti Devi, that even baffled Mahatma Gandhi | rebirth stories | reincarnation in india | shanti deva | reincarnations | avatars
Shanti Devi was born on December 11, 1926, in a little known town of Delhi. She did not speak much until she reached the age of 4 but otherwise she was just a normal girl like any other in the locality.
At the age of four, the little girl started claiming that the home where she lived was not her real home and that her parents were not her real parents and began to claim to remember details of her past life.
Discouraged by her parents, she ran away from home at age six, trying to reach Mathura. Back home, she stated in school that she was married and had a son with her husband. She said that her husband lived in Mathura (145 kilometers from Delhi) but never uttered his name.
Ian Stevenson found the Shanti Devi case to be correct. He worked long and hard to find infallible evidence on this case and came up with some startling facts which established the veracity of Shanti's claims. Shanti wasn't deluding people after all.
It is often seen that In cases of murder and unexpected deaths, many do remember their past life because the chord of attachment was unwillingly broken and still existed. Accidental or sudden death meant the soul could not easily leave the body it still identified with.
Buddhism and Hinduism believes in reincarnation. Christianity does not. Nor does Islam.
Some say instances of reincarnation are found more in South Asian countries. This could be true, but the truth also is that in many Christian countries, people are bewildered when such cases come to light. In eastern countries the bonds between people are strong and they strongly remember their past lives that they were severed of during the snapping of the soul from the mortal body. The fact that Shanti traced her previous family was because of her desire to meet her son whom she had left behind for her heavenly abode. Stevenson had no explanation of why she was born to the family that she did or why she could remember the details, but his scientific evidence revealed it to be true. Those who do not wish to die but have to, or have some major dissatisfaction, sudden, accidental death with life abruptly cut short, return to sort out the pending karma as per cosmic rule. However, they often end up remembering previous details in their next life that their soul during its unwilling departure from the earthy plane could never erase.
Souls choose parents who have the same frequency as them.
In her later years, Shanti was a calm person in her earthly life and had a profound sense of reality. As a young biology graduate, aware of a very different reality of being, she chose to remain unmarried in life.
Sadly, people want magic and read fairy tales to believe in harry potter, when the secrets of this universe are far more compelling and mysterious and intriguingly beckon us to unearth them.
