Critical to planning and goal setting in 2020.
The notion of written goals miraculously coming to fruition is as ridiculous as it sounds. Written goals are better than no goals, but without an action plan, success is still unlikely.
Our planning process at Unity Gym starts on a macro level by defining our
1. Purpose - What gets you excited to get out of bed in the morning, what drives you?
2. Values - What’s most important to you in your life, what delivers your happiness?
3. Vision - What does success look like to you long term, your big picture?
Then once we have some clarity on the macro picture we move to a micro level for:
1. Goals - What’s your BHAG? Often referred to as your mission or mission statement
2. Planning - What’s your strategy? Reverse engineer your goals to create tangible steps
3. Program - How are you going to execute? What’s your daily schedule tasks/activity etc.?
Don’t worry—if you don’t feel like you know yourself enough yet to answer these questions—by the end of this series, you will!
In today's episode we start the engine—metaphorically speaking—by learning to reverse engineer your goals, by first aligning them with your purpose, vision and values. This is an integral step to setting goals that you’re more likely to achieve.
