This week on #TubtaNabadda, we celebrate UN Day, observed globally on 24 October, which marks the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter.
For this year’s special United Nations’ 75th anniversary, we interview James Swan, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia, about the UN75 initiative, a global dialogue and listening exercise in which people everywhere are invited to share their views about the future they want. Mr. Swan also speaks about the long-term partnership between Somalia and the United Nations, and how the world body’s work is aligned with country’s priorities in peacebuilding, democratization, and development.
