must worship in spirit and in truth."

Spirit and Truth

As we reach the hinge of the worship acrostic, we have the most important aspect of worship. True worship is spiritual. The traditional liturgical order is spiritual worship. God is spirit. "All Scripture is breathed out by God" (2 Timothy 3:16). The traditional liturgy is filled with quotations of Scripture.

These Spirit-breathed messages of reconciliation bring comfort to our troubled souls. God's Word distributes the medicine our souls desperately need. The Holy Spirit daily and richly preserves us in God's grace through our Baptism.

Our worship is spiritual because God requires us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. True worship is filled with the Spirit. Be filled with the Spirit as you worship Him this weekend and hear His truth for yourself. Amen.
