Moment of Meditation: Tender Shepherd

MESSIANIC PROPHECY: TENDER SHEPHERD

Prophecy:

He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms

And carries them close to His heart;

He gently leads those that have young.

Isaiah 40:11

Fulfillment:

The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

John 10:2-4

Thought:

Jesus, like a shepherd lead us. Call each of us by our name. The name you have given to us in our Baptism. The name that makes us one of Your sheep. Protect and save us from the ravenous wolves that seek to destroy Your flock. Carry us close to Your heart and gently lead us. Amen.
