Moment of Meditation: God's Servant

MESSIANIC PROPHECY: GOD’S SERVANT

Prophecy:

Here is My servant, whom I uphold,

My chosen one in whom I delight;

I will put my Spirit on Him

And He will bring justice to the nations.

Isaiah 42:1

Fulfillment:

While [Peter] was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”

Matthew 17:5

Thought:

On the mountain of Transfiguration, God tells Peter, James and John that Jesus is His Son, His chosen servant, with whom He is well pleased. He is the one to whom we should listen. He is God’s servant who didn’t even consider equality with God something to be grasped but made Himself a servant. He became obedient to God unto death. A death for you so that you might live forever with Him. Amen.
