Moment of Meditation: Clear Conscience (1 Timothy 3:9)
They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
(1 Timothy 3:9)
The hardest thing for Christians who take the Bible seriously is to keep their conscience clear. To keep what they believe. To survive the onslaughts of the world. To maintain a faithful witness to Jesus no matter what.
Society wants to pressure Christians into accepting non-Christian and anti-Christian ideas into their beliefs. One who holds the idea that "all roads lead to Heaven" cannot "with a clear conscience" govern the Church. One who holds the idea that Jesus died on the cross only to give us an example of selfless love cannot "with a clear conscience" govern the Church.
How do you keep a clear conscience? Be addicted to the Word. Don't listen to the outside influences that try to drive us away from the true faith. What does God say in the Bible? Listen to Him. He's the One to whom you will have to answer on the Last Day. Amen.
