Moment of Meditation: Quiet and Peaceable Lives (1 Timothy 2:2)
Original Broadcast: February 2011
Monthly Theme: Pastoral Epistles (1 Timothy 1-2)
For kings and all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and reverence.
(1 Timothy 2:2)
In our prayers for all people, we include those who exercise authority over us as President and Vice-President, Congress, Governor, Mayor, Representatives. These people are especially in need of our prayers. They are held responsible for the well-being of our daily lives. A great responsibility for such a few people. A great burden for those few people.
This burden is not taken lightly by anyone. It is a very deliberate undertaking. An undertaking requiring godliness and reverence. An undertaking that seeks God's guidance in their actions. Pray for those who serve you in government. They need to be lifted up to our Father in Heaven for special gifts to complete their vocation. Amen.
