Moment of Meditation: Spirit of Wisdom (Deuteronomy 34:9)

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom,
for Moses had laid hands on him.
So the people of Israel obeyed him
and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
(Deuteronomy 34:9)
The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of wisdom. The Holy Spirit grants the wisdom of God to each and every person in whom He dwells. Wisdom encourages faith. St. Paul prays that the Ephesians might receive this spiritual gift for the building up of everyone (1:17).
The spirit of wisdom brings understanding and knowledge of things beyond human comprehension. How can Jesus' life and death mean anything for me and my salvation? That's a question we cannot answer without the spirit of wisdom. Wisdom also brings about leadership among believers. We seek wise teachers to help us along our journey through this life and into the next. Wisdom brings people to Christ. And Christ brings people to Heaven. Amen.
