Moment of Meditation: Not Alone (Genesis 2:18)
Original Broadcast: June 2010
Monthly Theme: Sixth Commandment
Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone;
I will make him a helper fit for him."
(Genesis 2:18)
The one thing God said that wasn't good was that Adam was alone. God had brought all the animals before him to name. None were a suitable match for him. None to help him fulfill the "Be fruitful and multiply" directive.
A lonely world. A world that wasn't good yet. An incomplete world.
God made Eve for Adam. Eve filled the gap in Adam's world. Eve completed Adam. It was now very good. Creation wasn't perfect until man and woman were together. Creation is ruined when you try to separate the two. This month we'll discuss the attempts to separate the two. Amen.
