Moment of Meditation: Together Daily (Acts 2:46-47)

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes,
they received their food with glad and generous hearts,
praising God and having favor with all the people.
And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
(Acts 2:46-47)

Together Daily

The earliest congregation in Jerusalem met daily, both in the Temple as well as in their own personal homes. They met in the Temple courts for the public proclamation of Jesus as the Messiah. They met in homes to share in Holy Communion.

This daily celebration of their newfound Christian freedom is wonderful. It serves as an example to us. Not only should we be in the worship services of our local congregation. We should also be in God's Word on a daily basis. While we may not be able to have a worship service every day, we should set aside a piece of the day in order to study God's Word. Make that a practice today. See where God will take you in His Word. Amen.
