"She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins."

Hymnwriter William How wrote: "Jesus! Name of priceless worth to the fallen of the earth for the promise that it gave, 'Jesus shall His people save'" (LSB #900.3).

Jesus was born to be the Savior of the world. That was God's plan of salvation. He came "not to call the righteous, but sinners" (Mark 2:17). He came "to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10).

Everything Jesus did was for the lost and for the fallen of the earth. He came to exalt the fallen into His kingdom through His death and resurrection. Thank Jesus today for His coming to redeem your fallen soul. Amen.
