Moment of Meditation: Only True God (John 17:3)

[Jesus said:] "And this is eternal life,
that they know You the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
(John 17:3)
There is only one God. Only through faith in the one true God can you have eternal life. It's not enough to believe that there is only one God. You also must believe that He sent Jesus Christ.
This Jesus was sent to be our righteousness (Jeremiah 33:16). He lived and die in perfect active and passive obedience and righteousness so that He might save us from our sins. Jesus prayed that everyone would come to a proper knowledge and understanding of Him and His Father.
This Jesus came as a baby in Bethlehem. He was sent to suffer, die and rise again for you. His righteousness is given to you by faith. Faith that believes in eternal life: God the Father who sent His Son into the world for you. Amen.
