Moment of Meditation: Enter His Gates (Psalm 100:4)
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
and His courts with praise!
Give thanks to Him; bless His name!"
(Psalm 100:4)
Praise and thanksgiving. That's how we're supposed to enter God's gates. We're to do this because it's God's will. We do this because it is what we owe God as our Creator and Shepherd, but we also do this to celebrate our gratitude for everything He has done for us.
He wants the relationship He had with our first parents back. He wants Paradise again. A perfect, lush world with no thorns, snares, droughts or floods. Perfect bliss is what He wants. This should send our hearts into a frenzy with joy and excitement. This is how we should come into His presence when we go to church. Worship is a glad affair, not a sad affair. We should see it as a festive occasion to come and worship God. It's not a drab, somber obligation that hangs over our head like a dark rain cloud.
You go to hear the Word of God and receive His Body and Blood through Holy Communion. You are being prepared for everlasting life. Be glad to go to church. It has great rewards for you. Amen.
