The Complex Relationship between Anger & Anxiety
“Anybody can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way - that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.” -Aristotle
Anger. Some people avoid ever even muttering the word.
Anger can cause shame. It can cause damage to others. We can end up doing or saying things we really regret when are angry.
And still…
We ALL have it.
Interestingly enough, us sensitive/anxious people have an especially complex relationship with the emotion for all kinds of different reasons.
In this episode, Erica and licensed clinical psychologist and anxiety specialist Dr. Charles Barr discuss common reasons anxious people have anger. Dr. Barr also explains your body's connection to anger and anxiety and the signals you can look out for.
Lots of great info ahead in this first episode in a two part series on the topic of anger.
