Tristina initially says that the Bible was the biggest reason why she is 100 percent sure her God exists, but we later uncover that there are deeper reasons.
I think it was a bit risky to ask how approaching things "with an open heart" are any different than simply being gullible. But Tristina seemed to roll with it, and it probably helped that we both worked together to forge a definition of that word.
Tristina emailed me a few hours after this talk to say she enjoyed the talk and spent time time thinking about it, including getting a better idea of the difference between gullibility and having an open heart. I'm eager to have another opportunity to meet with her (preferably, on camera) to explore the reasons for her high level of confidence.
Music provided by Chet Hovatter.
Mistakes:
I should have spent more time building rapport at the outset. This would have probably helped Tristina be more comfortable with the discussion.
I think it would have been helpful if I had asked Tristina to look up the definition of gullibility on her phone before we proceeded any further.
Please let me know if you notice any mistakes so that I can address them here for self-improvement.
