Using Curiosity to Build Trust and Respect with Robin Barone
Curiosity is...well, curious. We may know the concept, but few of us take time to think about how to cultivate an attitude of curiosity in our daily lives. Today’s guest, Robin, believes we can’t foster a sense of connection and trust if we don’t appear curious about one another.
In this episode, we cover topics including the role of curiosity in romantic partnerships, work relationships, and friendships, specific language to use to help foster a curious demeanor, and how to be assertive rather than aggressive. In our current climate, curiosity can be a powerful antidote to bridge feelings of division or misunderstanding.
Robin Barone is the founder of Diplomat Books and “Curiosity Conversations”, a newsletter and workshop designed to create better outcomes for the employee experience to increase innovation, employee engagement & retention, and overall productivity through increasing the amount of curiosity in company culture. She is passionate about teaching curiosity to improve the employee experience.
Curiosity is a life skill that can be nurtured and strengthened with knowledge and practice like a muscle. Increasing the level of curiosity in professional communications will lead to strong relationships built on trust, resiliency, and innovation. Strong relationships lead to increased collaboration and productivity of teams.
