Dr. John Staddon is James B. Duke professor of psychology and professor of biology at Duke University. As a scientist, Staddon is known for experimental and theoretical research on interval timing, "superstition," and behavioral economics in rats, pigeons, fish, and people. He is also known for his critiques of Skinnerian behaviorism and the proposal of a theoretically based "New Behaviorism." A native of Great Britain, Staddon devotes this speech to "Socialized Medicine: The British National Health Service."
