Boosting Testosterone, Naturally: How to Supplement Your Testosterone Without Decreasing It's Production
Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee answer a listener's question on more natural testosterone supplements that won't interfere with the body's native testosterone production. When considering whether to start testosterone supplementation, a few factors are paramount: 1) What is your baseline? For patients with testosterone numbers under 150, the loss of bone mineralization can lead to early osteoporosis and therefore requires treatment. 2) Are you symptomatic? If you have a number above 150 and aren't yet symptomatic, it might be worth holding off. Many testosterone supplements do cause the body's natural, native production of testosterone to decrease, so if there's not yet a need, it may be best left alone. 3) Do you want to boost your testosterone more naturally? If so, there are many options for you such as Finasteride or saw palmetto which are frequently used at NAU Urology Specialists. If you are interested in learning more about natural ways to boost your native testosterone production, give us a call today!
Dr. Mistry is a board-certified urologist and has been treating patients in the Austin and Greater Williamson County area since he started his private practice in 2007.
