Each month, Still Becoming brings you a Mental Health Check-In episode. These episodes are focused on mental health, emotional health, or personal growth, and involve a short teaching and a few take aways in around 15 to 20 minutes. The idea is to take a therapeutic topic or technique and expand it to help us in our everyday lives.
This week we are talking about loving ourselves in order to love others, especially as we head into the holidays. We are all able to love others well when we are loving ourselves well. We are talking about seeing and affirming ourselves, not living to please others, having boundaries, and creating a loving non-anxious presence in ourselves. You love better when you feel better, and you feel better when you are not being too hard on yourself.
I hope this episode serves as a short psychologically based pep rally for loving and caring for yourself as you head into this busy season. May you feel seen and encouraged by this episode.
