Episode 210 - The King of Kings invites you into His Kingdom of love
EZ 34:11-12, 15-17
PS 23:1-2, 2-3, 5-6
1 COR 15:20-26, 28
MT 25:31-46
We have glorious readings today – the Lord who is my Shepperd is also my King.
We love the image of the Lord coming with us walking on His shoulders when we have walked outside of the safety zone and gotten ourselves in trouble. His mercy and kindness bring us home.
We also love the glory of Jesus with His kingly crown, His Majesty. But do we love Him as Judge?
That is the third element in the Kingship of Jesus that we celebrate today.
In Ez 34 we hear God’s voice to Ezekiel, that He Himself will tend to us. He rescues us from everyone of us from any place we are scattered. He seeks the lost… he brings the stray, the binds the injured… But He also judges, separates and destroys…
We have the familiarity of Psalm 23, God refreshes us, guides us, anoints us… and blessed are we when we dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of our life
In 1 COR 15:20-26, 28 The Victory of Jesus is declared the moment of His Resurrection, He becomes the King of Life in a Definitive Way. Jesus had declared walking amongst His disciples I am the Way the Truth and the Life, I am the Bread of Life, I am the Resurrection and the Life.
In Him all of us have life. We belong to Him. He is our King, the King over death. He delivered the firstfruits – a human, our Lord, walking the path of life that we may have that eternal hope.
