Were we worried about this game with the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars? If you were around in 2017, yeah. You'd be worried too. Even with Jaguars coming out of the tunnel with a QB playing in his third NFL game.
The Steelers finally take care of business. When they have a 10 point spread on the road, now THAT's the time to worry. But this turned out to be the second yawner (was anyone awake in the third quarter) in a row.
What's new to say? Certainly not the offensive play calling. Why is Benny Snell the go to guy with the ball inside the 5 yard line. Why are we running on 2nd and long, let alone 3rd and long?
While we're not seeing Ben the Bomber of old, he's making it happen with an armamentarium replete with deadly weapons. Diontae Johnson broke the 100 yard mark for the second game in a row. Chase Claypool came within one TD (10) of the all-time Steeler record for a rookie.
James Conner exceeded 6 yards per carry on his way to 89 yards.
But it was the magnificent defense that held Jacksonville to 3 points, which came on the first drive. The Jaguars would only see the Steeler side of the field once more in the entire game.
Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds turned on their Luton Radars, picking him for two INTs each. While the Bud Dupree and Stephon Tuitt extended the Steeler consecutive game sack streak to 67.
