Episode 54: Kintsugi Principles: Beauty out of Brokenness Part 2 with Monte & Stephanie Schmidt
Monte and Stephanie found themselves at the edge of burnout. In part 2, we dive deeper into their recovery process and how Monte ended up being a counselor after decades of leading in business and full-time ministry. If you have not listened to Episode 53, stop and listen first. The Schmidts have been married 31 years and have five children, including two adopted girls with disabilities. Steph has been a stay-at-home mom for the past 25 years and Monte currently works as one of the professional counselors at Living Wholehearted, helping leaders move through seasons of pain and learning to live with integrity. From his own journey of depression, burnout, and shame, Monte and Stephanie share how their marriage withstood a darker season. Stephanie has become an incredible Kintsugi artist, creating handmade pieces of art to symbolize how God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. Steph leaves a piece missing from every single one of her hand-made designs to represent the unfinished work we all are in God’s grace. https://www.etsy.com/shop/NWHeartCreations
