Therapists Are People Too (T.A.P.T.)
Health & Fitness:Mental Health
Season 3 Ep 7 Black Brown And Bothered: Reflections Of The Decade
In this week's episode, we tackle our journey through adult development in our thirties. Listen as we talk about our spiritual and emotional healing journeys, health and physiological changes, and discovering our passions and career goals. Dive in as we discuss and get deep about our relationship experiences, compromise and “that list”, self-esteem and self-worth, and adult development.
Erik Erikson is the bomb.
Key takeaways for this week’s episode:
1. This is your unique story and it’s kind of beautiful. It is okay that your life is not moving in a linear pattern. Let yourself just move where life takes you. Keep climbing that evolutionary staircase.
2. Breakups (friendship or romantic) are the best. What?! They are necessary for your growth. You get a better understanding of who we are, and very clear about our value system.
3. We love tacos, tacos, and tacos (and now made with vegan cheese). We also have more aches and pains now. No one likes to do lunges but we do need to exercise. We must invest in our physical health and wellness in order to remain healthy and energetic.
4. As you get older what is important to you becomes clearer. Friends become family. We feel the need to build community and interdependence and have meaningful relationships and connections with others.
