Colonel Manon Asselin enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988 with the Naval Reserve.
She has served in various Naval Reserve units prior to joining the Regular Force. She has served in many different parts of the Navy and on many different tours, including the Adriatic sea under the NATO umbrella, as well as an exchange with the Royal New Zealand Navy. She left the Naval Reserve as a Master Seaman. She obtained her commission in June of 1998 (you will have to tell us later what that means).
Following her transfer, she served with 3 Health Services Operational Training Unit – Halifax. She held a number of positions in this role.
From September 2012 to July 2013 she was deployed as acting (left-tenant) Lieutenant-Colonel (curnel) with the NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Operation ATTENTION.
Promoted to the rank of (left-tenant) Lieutenant-Colonel (curnel) in 2014, she returned to Canadian Forces Health Services Headquarters Ottawa. She is currently the Commander of 4 Health Services Group.
