Ethics and Etiquette is a thought-provoking discussion about everyday dilemmas.
This week, we’re talking about panhandling. You know, the folks at the intersection or outside the mall with cardboard signs that say “Homeless and hungry. Please help. Bless you.” This is something we’re conflicted about. On one hand, charity compels us to help others less fortunate. On the other hand, we wonder if we’re enabling irresponsible behavior or worse, being duped or played.
