The process to do vase breathing is to do pranayama first and then kapalabhati and then vase breathing. There are no short cuts to vase breathing. Even if you feel tired or feel it is difficult, it is good to do little bit each time so that it becomes easier. We do pranayama to regulate our breathing. We do kapalabhati so that the stomach becomes little soft and it gets ready to take the air in. And, then when we fill the air down, the prana vayu gets circulated in the whole body. If you don’t do kapalabhati before vase breathing, then you should not do vase breathing because you will end up having stomach problems.
I have mentioned in my book The Wellness Sense, that good yogis always keep their stomach almost empty. You should eat moderately and eat slow. Always eat a bit less than how hungry you are so that there is air in the stomach to digest it better. Yogic kriyas are meant for yogis only and a Yogi is one who has control over his body.
