He has received numerous awards for his writing, including the British Book Awards Author of the Year Award in 2004 and a CBE for service to literature in 2007.
Ahead of the release of 'A Promise of Ankles' and 'How to Raise an Elephant', Ben chats with Alexander around how COVID affected his writing process, his prolific output and interest in friendship as a subject, having an elephant named after him, and more.
