Moment of Meditation: Pray in Secret (Matthew 6:6)
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door
and pray to your Father who is in secret.
(Matthew 6:6)
Prayer can happen anywhere. It doesn't have to be a public prayer in worship. It can be a private prayer. You in your room before going to bed. After waking up in the morning. In the waiting room or at the bedside of a loved one in the hospital. In the car while you're driving to work. Just don't close your eyes while praying and driving.
Sometimes, they're even silent prayers because "we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words" (Romans 8:26). Prayers need not even be vocal for God to hear them.
God hears every prayer offered in Jesus' name. Prayer offered in faith in Him as Savior. These are His words: "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." God's kingdom comes with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray as we ought. Whether in public or in secret. Amen.
