When Dianna and I created our Family Discipleship Plan together, our kids were 7, 6, and 2, and we decided to have a major part of our plan revolve around our daily family mealtime together. We made a decision to reserve dinner as a sacred hour for our family, as often as we could, to gather around the table with the expressed purpose of connecting with each other and with God (and, for eating food together, of course!).
Some weeks were better than others, but over the years, I would say we average between 3-4 days a week of actually sharing in this special family meal together with family discipleship as a primary component of the meal.
