Competing as Miss Tennessee 1986, Kellye Cash Sheppard captured the title of Miss America 1987. She traveled across the nation promoting the Miss America system and her platform of substance abuse awareness education as well as promoting the "Just Say No" initiative. During her year as Miss America, Kellye appeared on several television shows and media networks. Kellye is a classically trained pianist and vocalist and has performed with many famous artists including her uncle Johnny Cash, Lee Greenwood, and Bob Hope. After concluding her Miss America reign, she returned to college and launched her music business as a Christian recording artist and speaker. She is happily married to her husband, Todd Sheppard, and is the proud mom of three amazing children, Brady, Cassidy, and Tatum. Kellye continues to stay involved with the Miss Tennessee and Miss America competitions as a former Miss America and volunteer. Her daughters have both competed in the Miss America system as local titleholders.
