Moment of Meditation: Seek First God's Kingdom (Matthew 6:33)
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
(Matthew 6:33)
As with the First Commandment, we should always seek after God's Kingdom in everything we do. How are my actions today seeking after God's kingdom? How were my actions last night seeking after God's kingdom? Am I striving to increase in God's blessing of righteousness?
These are the core questions of life. We believe more is better. That's why TV preachers who don't talk about sin are so popular. It's all about stuff now. God can only bless me by giving me more stuff. I'm under punishment if I don't increase. But is it the sheer increase that's God's favor being shown to you?
God has not gifted everyone for the priesthood or the public ministry. Seeking God's kingdom doesn't mean giving up everything to go into church work. Seeking God's kingdom can come as a farmer, a doctor, a lawyer, a father, a mother. Doing everything you do for God's glory (Colossians 3:17). Seek God's kingdom how He has gifted you today. All His eternal blessings will come to you. Amen.
