Moment of Meditation: Today's Trouble (Matthew 6:34)
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
(Matthew 6:34)
We're only guaranteed today. When we pray the Lord's Prayer, we ask for our daily bread to come to us today. Whatever we need in order to make it through today. We're not promised tomorrow. Being anxious about what's going to happen tomorrow only distracts us from what IS going on today.
Today has enough trouble and enough to worry about all in itself. Each day, each moment, is filled with many possibilities for its resolution. What will become of today? Focus on it and what needs to be done. What needs to be done tomorrow can wait until tomorrow. '''IF''' tomorrow comes. Amen.
