This season can be especially hard.
But there’s one thing I know to be true no matter what: Finding something to be grateful for always helps.
Listen now
What does being grateful entail?
Grateful is a feeling and belief that there’s always something we can learn from even the most horrendous of situations.
Personally, I know that to be true. That’s because the very hardest things in my life have come before my greatest growth, joy, and life lessons.
Here are some tools as we reflect on this year and look forward to the next.
When the stinking thinking starts to creep in, pivot quickly to gratitude. It has a way of transforming our experiences, attitude, and self-perspective.
When I can have compassion and gratitude towards the people that piss me off, I don’t go energetically bankrupt.
Being in a state of gratitude can also shift your perception of reality.
When held hand-in-hand with gratitude, moments of disappointment and defeat—the numbing out and shutting down—can be transformed into awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love.
