Moment of Meditation: Wolves in Sheep's Clothing (Matthew 7:15)
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15).
Not everyone can be taken at face value. There are people who are going to try to deceive you. But Jesus isn't telling you to adopt a "Don't Trust Anyone" attitude. That's the devil's lie that he wants to implant in your mind.
Jesus encourages us to know when the wolves come to us in sheep's clothing. To know enough of what we believe, teach and confess to know when someone is trying to lead us astray. This involves Bible study. Both individual and group. As we come to the end of the school year, many churches in our area take a break from Sunday morning Bible studies for the summer. I encourage you to take advantage of those congregations, like Trinity, that continue to have Bible studies during the week.
Be in God's Word and you will well-equipped to battle the wolves when they come. Amen.
