Bob Hicok has appeared in several issues of Rattle, including the conversation in issue #29. His poems have appeared in a wide variety of magazines, journals, and anthologies, including the New Yorker, Poetry, The American Poetry Review, and numerous volumes of The Best American Poetry. His books have been awarded the Bobbitt Prize from the Library of Congress and named a "Notable Book of the Year" by Booklist. His most recent book is Hold. Hicok has worked as an automotive die designer and a computer system administrator. He is currently a professor at Virginia Tech University.
