This week on #TubtaNabadda, we look into the effects of climate change on our planet and how it impacts the livelihoods of Somali communities which endure cyclic shocks of drought, floods and cyclones attributable to climate change.
We interview Ahmed Yusuf Ahmed, the Director of Environment and Climate Change at the Office of the Prime Minister of Somalia. He talks about the effects of climate change and what the government is doing to address this critical issue.
We also interview Hassan Abdirizak, of the UN’s Joint Programme on Sustainable Charcoal Reduction and Alternative Livelihoods. He tells us about what the United Nations is doing to support national efforts to address the challenges resulting from climate change.
We’ll also be giving you a chance to listen to an engaging poem about the preservation of the environment by Liban Abdi Warsame.
