5 Tips for Converting to Healthier Eating with Olivia Hertzog
#008 –This week, my guest is Olivia Hertzog. She’s a private chef and coach, focused on a raw-vegan lifestyle. I am excited to have her on to talk about her top five tips for helping people transition to a healthier way of eating. While she focuses on eating raw and mostly fruit-based, this show will be helpful if you are looking to transition how you eat, regardless of whether it’s just adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet or making a bigger shift to veganism, vegetarianism or even all-raw. Her tips are broad enough that it will be beneficial, regardless of what path you’re on.
One of the other reasons that I wanted to have Olivia on the show is because she has been traveling full-time around the US in an RV, while eating healthy. I love traveling, so talking about how to maintain a lifestyle while traveling full time is one of my favorite topics, but she provides a good example of how to eat well while being out and about and enjoying life.
Olivia is a raw vegan private chef and coach. She lives in her RV and travels around the US teaching people how to adopt a fruit-based diet. She has been personally eating a fruit-based diet for over 4 years. Next year she is hosting several Raw Food Retreats around the US. And online "cooking" classes to teach others how to prepare fruit-based, raw-food recipes!

RECIPE FROM THE SHOW:
Sun-Dried Tomato and Bell Pepper Salad from Olivia’s Live-Like-Liv 7 Day Raw Vegan Meal Plan
For the Salad:
1 small red bell pepper
1 small tomato
1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes
2 tsp chili powder
5 small dates
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Blend it all up and serve over a bed of whatever salad ingredients you like.
Simple Tahini Dressing:
2 tbsp tahini
Juice of 1 lemon
1T apple cider vinegar (can also add a little more lemon juice as a substitute)
Dash of agave (or maple syrup or whatever sweetener you prefer)
Whisk that all together and pour over your salad!
